Bible Text

For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the Lord of hosts shall do this.

2 Kings 19:31

Devotional

Zion is a place of divine escape. A person who is regular in Zion escapes evil however the plot because there is an unusual grace for defence and escape in Zion. Hence persons present in Zion, no matter how the avenger of blood is after them, in Zion, they enjoy safety because it is a place of refuge, defence and escape, a place where the glory of God forbids man’s judgment because of His mercies. Isaiah 4:5 says, “And the Lord will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.”

Also in Zion, there is deliverance, holiness and the house of Jacob possess their possessions (Obadiah 1:17). Severally, we have seen the Spirit of God exposing plots of evil against worshippers in Zion and the plots frustrated because in Zion there is deliverance.

God does not only deliver His people and all who seek Him in Zion, He also purges and cleanses them from all forms of iniquities and establishes holiness in them. As one fellowships in Zion, one is changed from glory to glory to be like Him embracing holiness in the fear of Lord. And finally one possesses one’s possessions. No matter one’s inheritance that is missing, stolen or hijacked, in Zion, there is recovery and restoration by judgment. Make it a habit to be regular in Zion and enjoy the beauty of Zion.
