Bible Text

But meat commended us not to God for neither, if we eat, are we the better, neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.

1 Corinthians 8:8

Devotional

According to our anchor text, you are free to eat anything you like, but it is not advisable to eat what will not build you up. It is not a sin to eat the food God has given to you As long as you receive your food with thanksgiving and sanctify it with a word of prayer, you are free to eat it Prayer helps to set the food apart, before it is taken into God’s temple your body.

As a New Testament believer, you are free to eat anything that edifies your body, but not what will destroy it. Wisdom demands that you understand your body system and avoid foods that are detrimental to your health and overall wellbeing. While some foods are needed in Mr. A’s body system to build it up, they may generate some health challenge in the body of Mr. B.

When you operate in wisdom in your body intake; you prolong your days. A number of persons are diabetic, not because they are born with it, but because they overlooked the consequences of excessive intake of sugar when they had the time to control it. Preventive measures are always preferable to the curative, as the restoration apostle always say, “Lead us not into temptation is better than deliver us from evil”. You will not fall a prey to evil anymore.

Prayer

Father, thank you for your word. I will henceforth operate in wisdom by fire.
