Sin Alters Destiny

After God created Adam, he ruled as king over the whole earth, he named all the animals with his God-given unparalleled wisdom. Every name he gave was the name thereof; he was absolutely in charge and he indeed exercised dominion over all God created until iniquity crept in and altered his destiny.

Sin alters destiny. It brings one from grace to grass, from dominion to oppression. Adam could walk confidently in the garden and stay in the presence of God with boldness. But when he committed sin along with his wife Eve, the same Adam who had absolute dominion, lost his exalted position, he became an object of a curse.

The once fruitful Adam that had the ground yielding unto him, now had a cursed ground for which he would eat in sorrow all the days of his life. The same Adam and Eve, who stayed boldly in God’s presence hid themselves from the presence of the LORD. The glory of God which was their covering departed from them and they were naked, God drove them out of the garden of Eden. They lost all because of sin.

Child of God, there is no gain in sin; it only demotes. When you give room to it in your life, you have given room to the devourer to alter your destiny. No matter how enticing sin is give no place to it. Proverbs 1:10 declares, “My son if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.”
