Devotional
As expressed in our anchor text, God told Isaac in Genesis 26:1-6 not to go down into Egypt but to remain in the land of Gerar. God asked him to sow in Gerar and assured him of His presence and blessing in that location. Isaac’s obedience to God’s command in abiding where God asked him to made him become very great. The same year he sowed and even in the midst of famine, he reaped a hundredfold. He became an envy because of divine favour (Genesis 26:12-14).
When you are rightly located, your life becomes open to God’s favour but when in a wrong location, you are disconnected from the flow of favour from above. That was what happened to Naomi in Ruth chapter one, when she departed from Bethlehem, the house of bread, to Moab, an enemy country, because of a temporary scarcity.
Do not allow yourself to be manipulated from the life of favour by judging locations with your human sight like Lot. Let God position you. With Him, rivers flow in the desert and there is a way in the wilderness. With Him your little effort yields much and men delight in you and favour you.
I pray for you today, may you never be manipulated out of God’s location for you, in Jesus Name.

My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, plant my feet in the right location of favour.
